Alternative fingerings, to complement the ones published in the Koonce/DeRome guitar arrangements of Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas.

Also, a demonstration about the importance of careful hand positioning.

While making our arrangement of the Sonatas and Partitas, it was a priority for us that the fingerings should be accessible to a wide range of players.

Fingerings that might suit some players, but perhaps not most, would sometimes present themselves. Part of the purpose of SonatasAndPartas.com is to complement our edition and to offer alternative solutions to various issues we encountered, as well as to share different options for fingerings.

This video discusses fingerings (perhaps unusual to some players) that omit the need for shifting. With some instruction on how to use the hand, guitarists may find that these fingerings work well at a fast tempo.
